Alyson Hunter
President

She has had a long career in public land use planning in coastal communities and agencies, starting in the North Coast (Humboldt County) and then for the Monterey Bay region starting in 2018. She has a wealth of planning and policy expertise in the Coastal zone, which is part of what brought her to wanting to serve on our Board. Before locating to the Monterey area, Alyson was on the Northcoast Regional Land Trust in Humboldt County with a focus of keeping working ranching and farming families on their land. She sees a similar function in the Fisheries Trust - the sustainable harvest of fish by fishing families in the region. More recently, she has become interested in learning more about the Indigenous peoples of the California coast and has completed a Graduate Certificate in Native American Studies from Montana State University. Alyson is currently the Planning Manager for the City of Marina and was also a planner for the City of Pacific Grove.
